First of all, what is JobSkilla?
JobSkilla is a free online platform designed to bridge the gap between unemployed people, funded training providers and training advisers.
Specifically designed for the unemployed seeking funded training courses with a fully integrated back-end management system for training providers and training advisers, creating and managing training courses has never been so simple.
Why did we get involved with JobSkilla?
Being from Oldham, we understood the real need for a platform that meets the needs and demands of those people that are unemployed across Oldham and our local boroughs. It’s difficult enough to find a job, never mind being forced into a job we don’t like or don’t want because we haven’t been provided with the correct skills or won’t receive the required benefits to survive.
Co-founders, Chris and Lisa, both came to us with a great plan and a great idea. We proposed carrying out the work which was in excess of their budget yet we really wanted to help them make this dream a reality. So, we invested and helped them get things off the ground.
2 years later, Luke and Danny departed from JobSkilla
We were behind the company’s branding and website development for almost two years from the start. Whilst we were helping out in the background, Chris and Lisa worked hard to grow the business to the point where our skills were no longer required, as they had developed their own in-house design and development department.
After meetings with the team, we decided it’s probably time to look at the options of selling back our shares. It was a very fair and generous offer, which they agreed, which we felt could really help the team move forward and have a better chance of investment with fewer people on the board.
We genuinely wish them all the success for the future and will continue to support them in their future endeavours.
