MID Communications relocate to Stakehill with a whole new creative vision.
CEO of North West leading O2 franchise, Danny Simpson, wanted a fresh new look for their new head office and O2 business centre in Stakehill, Middleton. After throwing some ideas around, we collectively came up with some really good concepts and set to work.
First stop, communication and motivation.
The main entrance had to have a big bold message. Something that drives people both when they enter or exit the building. MID Communications recently had their brand updated by our team in which they have implemented a strong blue gradient. This gradient was used with a background overlay of Lewis Hamilton, one of the best drivers ever seen, and a powerful strong white message containing the words ‘winners win’ in a clean, three-dimensional effect.
As you walk up the stairs you see another big blue wall with Danny Simpson’s famous phrase ‘Pride. Passion. Persistence’. in bold, white, two foot high letters. Closer towards to top of the stairs, you see the enormous, powerful lion’s head, observing the world through the window.
Immediately, as you turn right at the top of the stairwell, there is another bright wall covering with overlooking water with Muhammad Ali faded in the background with the following phrase below; ‘if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.’
When you enter the main reception area, you will see the guys have created a stunning, open-plan office environment using full-length glass partitions. Keeping things in-line with the company’s new branding style, we thought it was only right to throw up some interlinking colourful lines across each and every panel, in keeping with Health and Safety guidelines.
Rather than leaving bare walls, we use both A1 frames and matt plot-cut vinyl to add those final finishing touches along with some more powerful messages, core values and great statements.
What until you see what’s downstairs.
After many meetings, brainstorming and creating more ideas; this one had to be stand-out. Something different, something out of the ordinary, something that people would remember. So, we started talking themes. A big area that is used by everyone, every day is the recreational space. People eat here, make coffee here, have little meetings here, general catch ups, etc.
We nailed it, we thought where else do all of the above happen? A coffee shop! We set about creating some visuals with a little inspiration for the famous Starbucks and created the all-new, master barista, MIDbucks. With thanks to John and the team at MID Communications, it was great to reveal the concept to O2 and their partners, associates and clients at their launch event.
Amongst the rest of downstairs, the same theme as upstairs was applied to all the glass partitions for all the departments on the ground floor. The added colour really brings the place to life.
