Why is video important?
We have seen how powerful video can be. Let’s face it, most of us have a TV, laptop, tablet, mobile phone or a games console and we watch entertainment, documentaries, films, news and other video content from any of these devices.
Mainstream TV has changed so much in the last 10 years with the rise of new techniogies such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer and YouTube. No longer do you have to sit and wait for your favourite programes or content to be broadcasted on TV. You can now pretty much stream any type of video content you want, straight to the devlice that’s held in your hands.
In the news recently, the BBC has reported a massive decline in the number of viewers it used to received on Saturday night TV, where as YouTube, an internet video streaming service, had reported a 50% increase of viewers from the previous year. The point being is that we now have choice what we want to watch, when we want to watch it and where to watch it. On-demand video has become increasingly in demand.
Have a read of this article from the BBC, viewers have the average age of 60 as young default to Netflix, which outlines the differences between age groups and how the younger generations are turning to online video streaming as their first source of video entertainment.
Express your business through video.
Whilst a picture is worth a thousand words, video tells the story. Most business we come across today have a story to tell, but we find they are not telling it online. Why? When we ask why most replies are “I don’t have a camera” or “Who’s going to talk on the camera”, they seem petrified of the fact of sitting infront of a camera and sharing their message.
We have also seen the impact achieved by using video as a marketing method. Video can be really compelling and help you get your message out. Whether you use animated video to show a set of processes, have a story you want to tell with an interview style or want to unbox a new product and show it of from all different angles, video can really compliment your marketing efforts.
Video is going to be a big part of our business.
